As Nick Cave sings on Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus, “Get ready for love!” Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds will be embarking on a North American tour this summer.
Where it gets interesting is, in addition to those scheduled performances, there are going to be a number of advance screenings of the upcoming Drafthouse Films release of 20,000 Days On Earth, the multiple Sundance Award-winning documentary that peeks into Cave’s life and creative process.
These screenings will take place in many of the same nationwide cities as Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds' Summer 2014 tour, and offer fans the opportunity to catch the award-winning film months before its theatrical release.
And then there’s this: Nick Cave will appear at special, eventized screenings in New York and Los Angeles, for an intimate evening of conversation and a rare, solo piano performance of a number of songs from his considerable catalog, making for a once-in-a-lifetime musical experience. Fans at the New York and Los Angeles shows will also be able to purchase an exclusive, limited edition commemorative poster designed by Mondo artist and art director Rob Jones.
And here’s the good news for you, you Nick Cave fan, you. If you’re a member of the Alamo Drafthouse mailing list, you’ll be given instructions how to purchase tickets to these screenings 24 hours before they’re made available to the public. Pre-sales start this Thursday, June 5, at 10 AM local time.
