Your Oscar Frontrunner Gets A Trailer: Angelina Jolie’s UNBROKEN

It's the true story of recently deceased POW and Olympian Louis Zamperini and it's gonna win Oscars.

Angelina Jolie ha directed a movie that is genetically engineered to win an Oscar, but the true story behind the movie is so incredible it's hard to fault the film. It's the story of Louis Zamperini, who rose from being a troubled street kid to become an Olympain in the Berlin Olympics before fighting in WWII, where his plane was shot down, he became a prisoner of the Japanese and stood strong against their torture and coercion. As you can tell from the trailer this is like three or four movies smashed into one, and it's too bad that nobody wanted to make the Zamperini Trilogy, because I bet each element of this guy's amazing life could stand to be a film on its own.

Zamperini just died last week, which really stacks the deck in favor of this film getting lots of Oscar attention. But even without that, look at this trailer! It's pretty sweeping, epic and beautiful. I saw a very extended preview of the film at CinemaCon earlier this year and I can tell you that this film is going to be either the most sublime, moving and inspiring film of the year or it's going to be a ham-handed piece of golden-tinged maudlin crap. I'm just so impressed by Zamperini's story that I'm leaning towards sublime.
