Some people do not like The Lonely Island. I don’t get it, but we all have our problems. Surely there is overlap between people who dislike the group but still find Hot Rod, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, or MacGruber funny, though, right? We have to at some point come to a place where everyone is happy, don’t we?
I ask because Universal will release a music-themed comedy from The Lonely Island, and I want everyone to be excited for it. Judd Apatow is producing, but I’m not sure how much that matters. Akiva Shaffer and Jorma Taccone are co-directing it, while I assume Andy Samberg will just eat sandwiches (or iceberg lettuce) while smiling a lot.
Nothing else is known about the project at this time. Except that I’m very excited for it. But that was not included in the Deadline article. Neither was this:
