Daniel Radcliffe Can’t Leave Magic Alone, Might Join NOW YOU SEE ME 2
My memories about Now You See Me are kind of fuzzy. If I remember correctly, the film ends with all the showy magicians (Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, and Isla Fisher) dying and going to magician Heaven or being awesome enough to join a secret magician society or something like that. Either way, there was a strong indication that should a sequel happen, it would be chock full of additional magicians.
According to an interview Michael Caine did with something called Hey U Guys, Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe might play one of those magicians:
“There’s a sequel to Now You See Me and we’re shooting in London. I shoot in December, the whole of December in London, and my son is Harry Potter. I thought it’d be funny, me and Daniel Radcliffe as father and son.”
If Michael Caine says something, it’s either true or the last lie you ever hear. I can’t remember if he played a magician or not in the first film, so I don't know how likely it is that Radcliffe will play a kiddo magician. Like I said, I may as well have skipped the first film altogether, much as I remember it now.
But something tells me another movie where Daniel Radcliffe does magic, even if it’s just smug finger waiving while wearing eyeliner, might be memorable. This, combined with more of Mark Ruffalo as king of all fake magic people, could offer us a movie worth getting drunk at 2pm for.
