The EVIL DEAD TV Show Is Official And Coming To Starz

Expect ASH VS THE EVIL DEAD.

Back at San Diego Comic-Con Sam Raimi announced that he was writing an Evil Dead TV show that would feature Bruce Campbell. I guess everybody forgot about that, because when Starz today announced they would air the show everybody on Twitter had a spazz attack of excitement.

Raimi's original announcement was very limited, and the latest news gives us many more details. The show will be called Ash vs The Evil Dead, and it will be a series of ten half-hour episodes. Old Ash will have to deal with a brand new invasion of Deadites - possibly spawned by the reboot movie?

Raimi will be directing the pilot, and of course Bruce Campbell will be returning as Ash, the role that made him famous.

“Evil Dead has always been a blast. Bruce, Rob, and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to tell the next chapter in Ash’s lame, but heroic saga. With his chainsaw arm and his ‘boomstick,’ Ash is back to kick some monster butt. And brother, this time there’s a truckload of it,” said Raimi.

I'm curious about the tone of the show. Will it be more slapsticky like Army of Darkness and Drag Me To Hell or more hardcore, like the Evil Dead reboot? With Raimi at the helm I'm assuming it'll lean sillier. What would you like to see in Ash vs The Evil Dead?
