With Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, Nick Offerman, Nick Onnerman, and Jeffrey Donovan on board, the Fargo season two cast was already looking good. Now it looks even better.
According to Deadline, Patrick Wilson, Ted Danson, and Jean Smart have all joined the cast. I’m ambivalent on Wilson, thrilled about Danson, and beyond excited about Jean Smart. I will also probably not watch this show.
Wilson will play a young version of Lou Solverson a “clean-cut Minnesota State Patrolman, four years back from Vietnam, where he served in the Navy.” Ted Danson will play Hank Larsson, “an unflappable WWII vet who embodies a certain cowboy poetry.” Meanwhile, Smart will play Floyd Gerhardt, “matriarch of the Gerhardt crime family. She stood by her husband’s side for 40 years, but now that he’s out of the picture she thinks it’s her turn to run things.” I love the way these descriptions are written. They have a certain cowboy poetry to them.
Fargo season two will take place in 1979 in both Sioux Falls, SD and Luverne, MN. It will be ten episodes long and probably feature a lot of snow and dead people.
