When the huge announcement went out that we’d be getting a third season of Twin Peaks, a lot of people had a lot of opinions. Even more people had no idea what the hell anyone was talking about. Well, for both of those groups, things are starting to get nailed down. The second group still doesn’t care.
First of all, Kyle MacLachlan’s return as Special Agent Dale Cooper is now official. The actor appeared at a TCA panel and not only confirmed his involvement but confirmed that David Lynch will in fact direct all nine episodes of the show’s return. According to EW, it went a little something like this:
“I’m very excited to return to the strange and wonderful world of Twin Peaks,” said MacLachlan, dressed in a Cooper-style dark suit. “May the forest be with you.”
So there you go. Maybe you’re not excited about reunion tour revamps, but it’s hard not to be just a little bit curious about a whole nine hours of David Lynch-directed material coming at us. And imagine how pissed you'd be if Cooper didn't return! Now you don't have to worry about it!
I imagine we’ll start hearing more casting stories about Twin Peaks sooner rather than later.
