The Canon Episode 11: FORREST GUMP

This episode contains no music from the Lt. Dan Band.

When Amy recommended Forrest Gump I was resistant - was this going to be another episode where we agreed on the movie? We like to change it up a little bit, and keep the discussions varied. Then I watched the movie and what do you know, I had an epiphany. This film belongs in the Canon because of what it does in terms of VFX, but also because of the strange cultural position it holds. You can't write a history of American politics in the 90s without considering how Forrest Gump reflected and possibly impacted the Republican revolution that led to the government being shut down. That feels like a big deal.

So listen up and go here to vote - let us know whether you think this one belongs in The Canon.
