I like the premise of the above viral video - Agent 47, the guy from the Hitman: Agent 47 reboot - kills a bunch of YouTube and Vine stars, but since I don't recognize any of them it just looks like he's slaughtering children. Now, I don't have a moral problem with killing children for entertainment, but this is just.... weird. It also makes me wonder if the film is going to be PG-13 - after all, why else market to tweens unless you think they'll buy tickets to your movie? I"m curious if you can make a good ruthless assassin movie with a PG-13 rating.
The real question, of course, is if you can make a good movie from this material. It's been tried before, way back in 2007 with Timothy Olyphant in the lead, and while that movie made money it was so widely disliked that they' ve gone for the mulligan. This viral video accompanies the real trailer, which focuses largely on a pretty cool prison break scene and a bunch of other surprisingly large action sequences.
I haven't seen the original film or played the video game, so I have no idea how this stacks up. It looks a bit like a Terminator riff - which in a year when we're being subjected to Terminator: Genisys could be welcome.
