Alejandro Jodorowsky has a new film up his sleeve called Endless Poetry, which should provide something of a continuation of Dance of Reality. (BTW, if you’ve seen Dance of Reality, please share your thoughts in the comments. I have never seen, nor met anyone who has seen, the film.) Most of Endless Poetry’s funding is expected to arrive the old fashioned way. The director would like a smaller chunk of it, however, to arrive through his new Kickstarter.
Anyone who saw Jodorowsky’s Dune might feel more of an obligation than usual to donate. After all, we were not there to help out with Dune’s funding, so we were not responsible for that film’s fate. But in this case, we have to put our money where our mouths are. Jodorowsky is looking to raise $350,000, which is around 10% of the film’s overall budget. Are you going to tell him no?
If you need any further convincing, each donation is actually an exchange. For every dollar you put into the project, you get a bit of Poetic Money in return. Literally, you get poetic money bills as one of the rewards:
There are 3 bill denominations: 1DP, 10DP and 100DP. Each bill has an original money-related poem written by Jodorowsky printed on it in Spanish. There are two versions of each DP bill, each version of the bill presenting a different poem. There are 6 kinds of bills in total.
