Love beer? Love traveling? Love doing something good? New Belgium’s got a really cool program, currently in its sixth year, called the Clips Beer & Film Tour. It’s a traveling tour that pairs fan-made short films (that’s where you come in) with New Belgium’s rarest beers, and proceeds benefit a non-profit local to the participating town.
Right now, they’re accepting submissions, and we thought the BAD and Filmmaking Frenzy communities would be into this endeavor. I mean, who loves beer and movies more than us?
Here’s the scoop:
We are looking for original creative content that touches on (but not limited to):
1. Craft Beer
Films need to be under 5 minutes.
If we select your film: What’s in it for you? Fame and beer-fortune. Yes, getting your film in front of thousands of beer and film-loving fans is no small feat. In over 20 different cities, coast-to-coast, your film is up on the big screen and then potentially online and at New Belgium hosted events. But that’s not all. For the first time we are going to bottle-up a trophy-worthy beer made exclusively for the winning submissions. Only Clips filmmakers will receive these custom screen-printed bottles declaring your filmmaking prowess. In addition to the custom bottles full of our award-winning beer, you'll receive a limited-edition, hand-forged Clips belt buckle. And the best part: we’re awarding ALL selections this year. Meaning, if your film gets in, you win!
And read a little more about the Clips Beer & Film Tour here:
We took our love for beer and fans and put them together in this one-of-a-New-Belgium-kind event. You'll get to try our most esoteric beer offerings and pair them with inspiring short films created by fans. The best part is that 100% of the proceeds from beer sales benefit a local non-profit who are working to improve your community.
The Clips Beer & Film Tour has raised more than $520,000 for local organizations, and 75,000 people have sampled beer and watched films. We've also diverted 85 percent of all event waste from landfills.
Fans of our Lips of Faith beers know these unique brews are not always easy to find. There will also be your favorite New Belgium classics and you can try them in 3oz samples, or a 12oz pour. Served up by our local beneficiary volunteers, there's plenty of beer fun to be had with our other traveling tricks and contests. Plus, local vendors will be serving food. When the darkness engulfs us, the films start rolling and you get to cozy up on your blanket or chairs and enjoy the show.
So, find the city nearest you and support your community by coming out and drinking beer! We'll announce 2015 cities soon.
