Gillian Flynn’s DARK PLACES Gets A French Trailer, Which Is Better Than No Trailer

Things are looking grim for Charlize Theron.

Everyone went gaga for Gone Girl, so hopefully some of them will transfer that enthusiasm over to Dark Places, another self-adaptation from author Gillian Flynn. It might be tough, however, as this film seems to embrace its darkness right from the get-go. I mean, this looks like a bummer from the title down.

But the trailer at least makes it look like an interesting bummer with a cool central mystery. Charlize Theron plays a lady who saw her family killed at a very young age and had to identify her brother as the murderer. Now she’s all grown up and a group of amateur sleuths want to help her figure out what really happened. Nicholas Hoult, Christina Hendricks, Drea de Matteo, and Chloë Grace Moretz also star.

Dark Places will open in France April 8. We don’t have a US release date (or trailer) yet, but we probably won’t have to wait long for those to arrive.
