Don’t Get TOO Excited About That LEGEND OF ZELDA TV Show

There seems to be good news for geeks and nerds every time you turn around. So when it came out that Nintendo might be making a television show based on The Legend of Zelda game franchise, it was just another brick in the “We live in golden times” wall, a very vivid wall filled mostly with brightly colored cartoon blocks.

But sometimes the real world sticks its ugly mug into things. Time has some quotes from Nintendo chief Satoru Iwata about what’s going on with Zelda, and one in particular is not pretty:

As of now, I have nothing new to share with you in regard to the use of our IPs for any TV shows or films, but I can at least confirm that the article in question is not based on correct information.

There’s that “as of now” in there, but this seems pretty negative overall. We might still get our weird Link & Zelda TV show (my title!), but it certainly seems less likely that such a day will come any time soon. I do hear, however, that they’re making a show where drunk rednecks hunt Donkey Kong.
