A-A-Ron? KEY & PEELE’s Substitute Teacher Sketch To Become SUBSTITUTE TEACHER Feature
Insubordinate. And churlish. Key & Peele's "Substitute Teacher" is one of the most popular sketches on the near-perfect sketch show, and now creators Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are turning the bit into a feature film for Paramount. Key will play the enunciation-challenged and short-tempered sub Mr. Garvey, and Peele will play "a rival teacher determined to be the students’ favorite."
The script will be written by Key & Peele producers Rich Talarico and Alex Rubens, and Key and Peele are producing alongside a bunch of other names. No word on a director yet.
If this were a sketch created by anyone else, I'd ask, "How are they going to turn this thing into a 90-minute feature?", but since it's Key and Peele, I'll just thank my lucky stars and sit quietly until it arrives.
