The GREMLINS Remake Gets A Writer, Is Still Happening

This guy’ll totally give you GOOSEBUMPS.

We’ve been hearing off and on about a remake of Joe Dante’s Gremlins for a while. Until now, none of that discussion has been all that serious. But guess what, bro. Shit changes!

Today we learn that Warner Bros. has hired a writer for this remake. His name is Carl Ellsworth, and he wrote the Red Dawn remake and The Last House on the Left remake, so he’s definitely comfortable remaking things. He also wrote the upcoming Goosebumps movie.

Ellsworth probably hasn’t gotten a ton of work on the Gremlins script done yet, so we’re still not sure what kind of direction this movie will go. We do know, however, that Steven Spielberg and Christopher Columbus will produce.
