Anne Hathaway Making Giant Monster Movie With Nacho Vigalondo

Hopefully Nacho plays the monster as well as directs.

How cool is Anne Hathaway? Maybe you think she’s great, or maybe you don’t think she’s cool at all. I’m here to tell you she’s awesome. If you need proof, she’s about to star in a giant monster movie called Colossal from Timecrimes writer-directer Nacho Vigalondo.

Described as Godzilla meets Lost in Translation, Colossal is about a single, jobless lady who moves back to her hometown. Meanwhile, a big-ass monster is ripping up Tokyo. The lady eventually discovers she’s somehow connected to it via the power of her mind and tries to figure all that out while keeping people from getting smashed. I’m paraphrasing a synopsis, but that all sounds pretty interesting.

This is a big project for Vigalondo, but the good news is it’s already fully financed by Voltage Pictures. So let’s just sit back and wait for Anne Hathaway vs. The Giant Monster. Also known as Colossal. But I like my name better.
