The first post-Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice* DC Movieverse film, Suicide Squad, is still shooting up in Toronto and man are they ever shooting out in public. The production has been heavily scrutinized and photographed from every conceivable angle, and the 'leaks' have been coming so often I've mostly quit paying attention to them. Until today.
The latest Instagram video from the streets of Toronto show off a very special car, engaged in a chase with another special car: it's the Batmobile chasing the Joker's pink sports car.
That Batmobile is LOUD.
I don't have a ton of inside info about Suicide Squad, but everything I have heard so far makes me believe this is some sort of flashback, possibly as part of Harley Quinn's origin story. My sources had told me previously that The Joker's main role in the film is being a Hannibal Lecter-type, mostly behind bars while the rest of the team goes on their mission. I don't know how true that is - I'm not even sure which iteration of the script that's from! - but earlier set pics of Margot Robbie without make-up confronting The Joker definitely make it seem like this could be Dr. Harley Quinn before she becomes enthralled with Mr. J.
It's kind of crazy - the Batmobile in a non-Batman movie. This is the first time I've really believed that DC is truly doing a shared universe on film.
