HE NAMED ME MALALA Trailer Highlights A Real Superhero

A feel good doc about a feel good girl.

Maybe I'm just getting old, but I teared up watching this trailer for He Named Me Malala, a documentary about Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani girl shot in the head by the Taliban for the crime of believing women should get an education. She survived the shooting and has become an inspirational figurehead, as well as winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Malala is about as true a hero as lives, and she's definitely deserving of a film. Sure, this one from Davis Guggenheim looks a little fluffy and has some heavy-handed uplifting music slathered on it, but fuck it, I need a little uplift in the wake of Charleston.
