Yesterday, a somewhat-crappy paparazzi shot from the Ghostbusters set was making the rounds on Twitter. It showed stars Leslie Jones, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, and Kate McKinnon in their Ghostbusting threads, standing on a busy street and staring blankly at the camera. It was a boring photo (which is largely why we opted not to run it), but it also all but guaranteed that an official, studio-approved photo of Feig's Ghostbusters would arrive sooner rather than later (also why we didn't run it).
And whatta ya know, here it is, via Paul Feig's Twitter account:
From left to right, that's SNL's Leslie Jones towering over Spy's Melissa McCarthy, with Bridesmaids' Kristen Wiig and also-SNL-star Kate McKinnon (putting off a strong Egon-from-the-animated-Ghostbusters vibe, which I doubt is coincidental) over on the right. Behind them, the new and improved Ecto-1, which we revealed to you earlier this week.
What do you guys think? I'm into it, but then, I like all of these ladies, I like Paul Feig, and I don't feel that my childhood's being desecrated by allowing females to operate Proton Packs.
Ghostbusters arrives next July. Fingers crossed that it rocks as hard as much as the individuals involved.
