RUMOR: JURASSIC WORLD’s Colin Trevorrow Will Direct STAR WARS EPISODE IX

This sounds about right.

Overnight, Heroic Hollywood's Umberto Gonzalez dropped a scoop that, if accurate, is one helluva bombshell. Here's what he's saying:

Today at the Star Wars Comic Con panel, Lucasfilm will bring out Colin Trevorrow onto the  stage at Hall H to announce him as the next director of Star Wars: Episode 9!

Just to be clear: we're still in rumor territory on this one - as of this writing, nothing's been confirmed - but, honestly, this strikes me as eminently believable. Trevorrow's Jurassic World may not have been a universal hit with critics, but it's raked in over $1.4 billion at the worldwide box office this summer. From a business standpoint (and the standpoint of the millions of people who enjoyed Jurassic World), this decision makes perfect sense.

We'll get confirmation (one way or another) on Heroic Hollywood's scoop later today, when the Star Wars panel hits SDCC's Hall H. Until then, express your joy, trepidation, or outrage in the comments below.
