Happy Birthday, Mario Bava! Hit Up The Bava-Thon On Shudder This Weekend

Nine Bava classics, ready for your eyeballs this weekend.

Today is horror legend Mario Bava's birthday, and to celebrate, new horror streaming service Shudder is hosting a Bava-thon on Shudder TV starting tonight, with nine excellent titles to ring in the big guy's big day.

·         Baron Blood (1972)

·         The Evil Eye (1963)

·         Lisa and the Devil (1973)

·         Kill Baby Kill (1966)

·         Five Dolls for an August Moon (1970)

·         Black Sunday (1960)

·         Black Sabbath (1963)

·         Bay of Blood (1971)

·         The Whip and the Body (1963)

We have some exclusive gifs to debut, because what better way to celebrate Bava than with a bevy of gifs? (Well, Bava-thon is really the best way to celebrate our Italian master, but these gifs are a close second.)

Shudder lead curator/horror maestro Colin Geddes gave us his opinion of the best Bava:

My personal favourite is Baron Blood, but that’s just because I’m a sucker for old cobwebbed castles with torture chambers in the basement and sadistic ghouls that like to lurk about them.

I mean, who isn't?

You can start a two-week free trial of Shudder today; just head over to Shudder.com and check out their sexy wares. But Shudder TV, the service's 24/7 constant stream of horror and home to Bava-thon, is available for free to all users!
