I am incredibly excited for The Keeping Room, Drafthouse Films' latest release directed by Daniel Barber (Harry Brown) from Julia Hart’s 2012 Black List screenplay. Look at this trailer!
Brit Marling and Hailee Steinfeld in a feminist western is just about everything I want from a film. The Keeping Room looks riveting and unconventional, and this part of the synopsis has me especially interested: "In this radically reimagined American Western set towards the end of the Civil War...". Yes!
The Keeping Room arrives in theaters September 25 via limited release, with a nationwide rollout through October. Be ready for this one.
