Mads Mikkelsen Won’t Be Eating Anyone in STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE

When you hire Mads Mikkelsen for your movie people might expect that he's going to be playing one of the villains. After all, the guy has an air of menace to everything he does. That's one of the things that makes the false-abuse-accusation movie The Hunt so disorienting at times - you could believe he did it!

So when it was announced that Mads is in Star Wars: Rogue One some people jumped to the conclusion (and I think some sites reported it as fact) that he would be the bad guy. 

Not so fast. 

Talking to a Danish paper, Mads had this to say: 

"It is very important role, a much I can say. No, my character is actually not a bad guy, and then I can not say more. I can also say that the movie will be shot in Iceland and England. And the filming will last for three months."

Three months... when he says he's playing an important character he's not kidding. He'll likely be in a whole bunch of the movie. But as what? He's not in that initial team picture we got - is he a sympathetic Imperial? I could see it. Is he a neutral party who gets pulled into the madness? Possible. I would kind of love if he was wearing a protocol droid outfit the whole movie. That would be my absolute number one choice for Mads Mikkelsen in this film - arch, threatening protocol droid.
