New BONE TOMAHAWK Poster Plays Its Cards Close To The Vest

They're not giving anything away on this one.

We've seen two posters for Bone Tomahawk so far, and neither of them have offered any hint as to how utterly bonkers S. Craig Zahler's horror-western is going to be. This new one, seen below, looks like it's advertising nothing more than another somber western™. I can assure you that this is not the case. Imagine Jack Ketchum's notorious cannibal-horror novel Off Season by way of Nick Cave's screenplay for The Proposition and you'll have a vague idea what Bone Tomahawk's probably going to be like.

Try reconciling that understated image with this, the film's official logline:

Four men set out in the Wild West to rescue a group of captives from cannibalistic cave dwellers.

See what I mean? Whoever's marketing Zahler's film has done an excellent job keeping Bone Tomahawk's crazier elements under wraps. I love it.

If you're going to Fantastic Fest this year, you can catch Bone Tomahawk when it screens as this year's closing night film (of course Kurt Russell will be on-hand for the closing night party, would you expect anything less from the world's greatest genre film festival?). Everyone else is strongly encouraged to check this one out when it opens later this year.
