What happens when you direct one of the summer’s biggest surprise hits (in this case, Avengers: Age of Ultron)? Well, Hollywood asks you to make more. Today’s news proves that this trend is true even if you’re a lady.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Elizabeth Banks is in talks to direct a new Charlie’s Angels movie. The film won’t be a sequel to the two we already have, but will instead reboot the series. That’s fine, but I will kind of miss Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, and Cameron Diaz.
For those who don’t know, Charlie’s Angels is all about three beautiful ladies who kick all kinds of ass and work for a mysterious guy named Charlie. First it was an iconic TV show. Then it became one and a half good movies. Now it’s probably going to become a big, awesome Elizabeth Banks jam. If she takes the job, this is absolutely good news.
Banks is in negotiations now. She and her husband, Max Handelman, will also produce. No writer has been hired yet.
