Tyler Stout Returns With A Crazy-Detailed AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Poster

Well, this was unexpected.

Yesterday, the poster-nerd world was abuzz with a very big rumor: artist Tyler Stout, a guy as synonymous with collectible screenprints as Marvel is with superheroes, had completed work on a print for Avengers: Age Of Ultron. Furthermore, the rumor went, the print would be revealed in the next 24 hours as part of a Hero Complex Gallery drop set to take place later in the week. If you're not as deeply-embedded in the poster-collecting hobby as some of us are, that probably sounds like par for the course. But lemme tell you: if true, this was big news.

And, hey, whatta ya know: for once, the rumors turned out to be true. Last night, at a private event attended by select members of the press, several fans, and members of the Marvel creative team (including Marvel President Kevin Feige and Age Of Ultron Executive Producer Jeremy Latcham), the print was revealed. More specifically, this cast & crew variant of the print was revealed:

Tyler Stout's Avengers: Age Of Ultron

24x36" Screenprint / Edition of 160

Not Available For Public Sale

From the press release issued by Hero Complex Gallery:

It was our tremendous pleasure to host Marvel and Disney last night for a special event in support of this Friday's In-Home Release of Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron on October 2nd.

Press, fans and several of the creatives behind the film shared in an exclusive sneak peak of the bonus materials of the Blu-ray Disc™, a screening of the film before it hits homes, an insightful Q&A on the Cinematic Marvel Universe with Kevin Feige, President of Marvel, andJeremy Latcham, Executive Producer of the film, and an incredible reveal of new artwork by artist, Tyler Stout, who has crafted a gorgeous new poster for this film.

There was a huge buzz in the room, a wonderful reminder for us at HCG on why we do what we do. Thank you to Marvel, Disney, and everyone involved in helping making this event possible, and to those who were able to join us. Huge huge huge thanks to Tyler Stout himself, for his expertise, attention to detail, just plain awesomeness as a person, and for entrusting us with the upcoming release of these hugely impressive screen print editions that he has created. Extra thanks also to DL Screenprinting for getting these to us with the quickness.

But don't worry, folks: the rest of the rumor was also true - Hero Complex Gallery's releasing a number of these (standard regular and variant editions) online tomorrow. Here's what they look like:

Wow. This is a pretty amazing development. Stout's been out of the poster game for quite a while now (not retired, exactly; moreover, he's been taking a much-deserved break), and, quite frankly, it's stunning to see a huge, new detailed print from the guy after all this time. And so unexpectedly!

Good luck to anyone trying for one of these tomorrow. It's going to be a tough get.
