Ellen Page Likely To Star In FLATLINERS Remake

You may have forgotten that there was a Flatliners remake coming down the pike. You may have forgotten Flatliners altogether. The original 1990 film starred Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, Oliver Platt, Kevin Bacon, and one of the non-Alec Baldwins as a group of pesky medical students who start messing around with induced near-death experiences. Things don’t go well.

According to Variety, Ellen Page is in talks to join the film as lead. She could be taking Julia Roberts’ role, or maybe they’re shaking things up gender-wise. Either way, I’m sure she will at some point in the film look very frightened about the horrors she and her pals have unleashed.

This Flatliners remake will be directed by the Swedish Girl With the Dragon Tattoo remake’s Niels Arden Oplev from a script by Source Code’s Ben Ripley. We still have a lot of time before it comes out, so you’ll have to wait if you want to see it. Or you could induce a near death experience of your own and hope that’s what you hallucinate.
