Ron Perlman To Play Goblin In FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM

Back in the makeup chair for this guy.

Despite being somewhat synonymous with playing roles under heavy amounts of makeup, Ron Perlman had done a great job just looking like himself lately, give or take a Hellboy or two. Nevertheless, it sounds like he’s getting back into the makeup chair soon enough.

According to THR, Perlman will appear in the Harry Potter spinoff, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them as a goblin, which is a bit odd since the goblins we see in Harry Potter movies are all very short. Maybe those are just English goblins, though. If that’s the case, Russian goblins probably all look like Zangief.

Perlman joins a growing cast that includes Eddie Redmayne, Jon Voight, Carmen Ejogo, Colin Farrel, Dan Fogler, and Samantha Morton. The film itself (which is shooting in England right now) takes place seventy years before Harry Potter’s story and focuses on a magizoologist who travels all over looking for magical creatures. I would be 100% more into this idea if it were a mockumentary, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.
