It is a truth universally acknowledged that a feature adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's Pride and Prejudice and Zombies - itself an adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice - has been in development for so long that no one ever genuinely believed it would come to pass. But, as the below teaser establishes, someone finally made this movie, and it looks like the only thing it could look like: a Victorian costume drama plus zombies.
Here's what I'll say for it: after her lovely, spirited performance in Cinderella, I can't think of a better Elizabeth Bennet than Lily James, and that is literally the highest compliment I can pay any actress. She's perfect for the role, and if I have to watch her Lizzie brutally slay zombies in addition to verbally slaying single men in possession of good fortunes, well, I suppose I can do that.
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies arrives in theaters February 5. Everything you need to know about it is in the title.
