The Netflix era of Adam Sandler’s career is about to begin with a big western comedy called The Ridiculous 6, which will come out close enough to The Hateful 8 to really fucking confuse your grandparents. Check out the trailer:
I like about 30% of Sandler’s movies, which I believe I makes me the actor’s biggest fan on Earth. This is the sort of thing I might actually give a chance. You have that cast, and Sandler’s not playing a frumpy man-child who lives in a mansion.
But you also have a trailer filled with non-jokes and airless goofy nonsense. When the biggest smile a comedy offers is “Hey, look at his funny eye!”, that might be a sign of trouble.
Nevertheless, I can see myself watching this just out of stupid curiosity. Maybe I’ll find this year’s true Christmas miracle, though I doubt it.
