The first trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence arrived today, though perhaps not in the way that 20th Century Fox would have preferred: the footage first popped up over on vid.me (which, quite frankly, is all the fanfare this movie deserves) before findings its way to the Independence Day: Resurgence Twitter feed. How's it look? It's about what you'd expect! Take a look:

So, in the twenty years since we last checked in with these beloved characters, Earthlings have co-opted alien technology, Bill Pullman grew a beard, and - having heard that both Randy Quaid and Will Smith won't be around to help us this time - the aliens are coming back to finish what they started. Yeah, sure, sounds great, guys. 

Look, I honestly don't see how anyone could give a shit about any of this, but I'm also a confirmed Independence Day hater, so of course I'm going to say that. Your mileage may vary.
