Now We Know Which Ghosts Paul Feig’s GHOSTBUSTERS Will Be Busting
The folks at Entertainment Weekly have dug up some new dirt on Paul Feig's forthcoming Ghostbusters reboot. Namely, they think they know who Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy, and Kate McKinnon will be doing battle against when the film opens in July.
Dead criminals from all eras of New York’s underbelly past have returned to roost among the living in Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot. Pilgrims, old-timey sailors, Revolutionary War spirits, and even a couple of zoot-suited gangsters are ready to take on four formidable female busters looking to rid the city of its phantasmic filth.
First of all: Jesus, EW, enough with the alliteration already. And secondly: this information is new, right? I don't recall hearing anything specific about Ghostbusters actual ghosts up until now. Even better, I like the idea of Feig's new blood facing off against period-specific ghosts. Funny ladies shooting laser wands at "old-timey sailors" is absolutely something I am onboard with.
They've also got a new picture to accompany this information. Looks like this.
Honestly...that's cool and all, Sony, but at the end of the day it's just the four Ghostbusters standing next to a fire truck. This is basically the same thing we've all seen a half dozen times now, and I think us blogger types are running out of things to say here. As such, I submit to you that the time has come to release a trailer. The level-headed among us are sold on the concept and curious to see what you've put together. Now we're ready to get a look at the thing in motion. Let's make it happen.
While we're waiting, share your thoughts on fire trucks and production stills in the comments below.
