With Tim Miller's highly-anticipated Deadpool just around the corner, the film has entered the final stages of its marketing blitzkrieg. Earlier this month, a "12 Days Of Deadpool" countdown took place over on Twitter, ending with the reveal of a brand-new red-band trailer on Christmas Day. Less than a week later, Empire's got a trio of new photos from the film. Let's take a look.
First up: a group photo featuring Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Colossus (Andre Tricoteux). Everything looks in order, doesn't it? Deadpool, in typical Deadpool fashion, appears to be breaking the fourth wall. Negasonic Teenage Warhead looks suitably unimpressed. And Colossus' neck has never been bigger.
Here's Gina Carano, playing a super-powered mutant by the name of Angel Dust. No word yet as to whether or not Carano will also be lending her voice to the character*.
Aaaand finally, here's Deadpool and Negasonic Teenage Warhead, just clownin' around and looking sour (respectively) amongst some wreckage. Two notable things in this photo: A) is Deadpool using that thing as a slide?, and B) check out Negasonic Teenage Warhead's New Mutants get-up. Thing looks great!
In fact, all of this looks great. I've only just come around on being excited about Deadpool (that last red-band trailer finally convinced me that this thing might be fun), but even at my most doubtful I've had to admit that this movie looks fantastic. If the script's as solid as the costume design and the glimpses of action that we've seen thus far, we may be in for a real treat when Deadpool opens next month.
How about you guys? You pumped for this one, or are you skeptical?
