Here's the highest compliment I can pay Jeremy Saulnier's Green Room: when it played Fantastic Fest last year, it had the audience squirming, shrieking, and shielding their eyes from the screen. Do you have any idea how hardcore a movie has to be in order to rattle a Fantastic Fest crowd?
Anyway, there's a new red-band trailer for the film, and...well, let's take a look.
I can imagine this trailer feeling somewhat spoilery if you haven't already seen the film, but I think they've done a pretty good job keeping Green Room's many surprises under wraps (if nothing else, the red-band trailer does a much better job of laying out the plot than last month's teaser trailer did; I showed that clip to several people whose immediate response was, "Cool, but what's it about?").
More importantly, this trailer sells the film's tension, which really is the first thing any trailer for Green Room oughtta be doing. It is, without hyperbole, one of the most intense films I've ever seen.
Start preparing yourselves for Green Room's arrival on April 15th, folks. This movie's going to kick your ass.
