Ian McShane Gets Major Role In AMERICAN GODS
American Gods is doing an interesting job with casting so far. The Starz show, which will adapt Neil Gaiman’s novel under the watchful eye of Bryan Fuller, already cast The 100’s Ricky Whittle as its main character, Shadow, a bit a casting that didn’t mean much to me at the time, but has me very excited now that I’ve seen all of The 100.
And now, according to Bryan Fuller himself, American Gods has nabbed the great Ian McShane as the show’s second biggest character, Mr. Wednesday. McShane is not above being in crap, but he’s one of those guys who can make good stuff better and bad stuff tolerable. The fact that he’ll be in the show in a major role is very good news.
One of these days I’m going to have to reread American Gods. I’m in an odd place where I remember liking the book without actually remembering much of the book itself. Nevertheless, the show is definitely shaping up into something worth watching regardless of the book’s quality.
