Apparently folks are digging Tom Hiddleston’s secret agent side in the new miniseries The Night Manager (we Yanks get it on April 19th via AMC), and they just won’t shut up about his chances at being cast in the eventual Bond 25. So during appearances like the one below, on EW’s Sirius XM talk show, they keep asking him.
Hiddleston is an absolute gentleman in his response, coming across as flattered and slightly embarrassed, and confirms once again that as far as he knows, it’s just online chatter – for now.
In the above video, he also lists his three favorite 007 flicks – two solid choices and one curveball: From Russia With Love, Casino Royale, and Live And Let Die.
Stories like this keep popping up, and it feels like Eon needs to make with a decision, post haste. Because at this rate if Daniel Craig ends up returning for one more 007 adventure, that announcement is in danger of being greeted with a kind of deflated surprise by a public who’ve all assumed Craig had hung it up.
For now, if the iffy dream of a Tom Hiddleston 007 is too much for your Tumblr’in’ heart to bear, I recommend grabbing the audiobook of Mr. Hiddleston reading Octopussy and The Living Daylights & Other Stories at the link below.
