JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 2 Gets A Dog-Free Official Synopsis

Going to Rome to shoot some domes.

This time next year, we will have already seen John Wick: Chapter 2, and the idea of a mere plot synopsis will seem silly and boring.

That’s fine, but today a plot synopsis could be all that stands between hope and crippling April Fool's Day sadness, so I can’t imagine any good reason to keep it secret. Here it is:

Keanu Reeves returns in the sequel to the 2014 hit as legendary hitman John Wick who is forced to back out of retirement by a former associate plotting to seize control of a shadowy international assassins’ guild. Bound by a blood oath to help him, John travels to Rome where he squares off against some of the world’s deadliest killers. Lionsgate’s “John Wick: Chapter 2” arriving in theaters on February 10, 2017.

We knew Wick would be going to Rome to deal with someone from his past. Now we have some more details. Someone’s taking over the series’ super cool assassin organization (recently written about to great effect here), and John Wick has to go deal with them due to a blood oath, something I think we should have more of in general.

That’s about all the official synopsis grants us. We don’t even know if he’s taking his new dog to Rome with him, though I certainly hope he does.
