Speaking as Assistant to the Treasurer of the Mark Strong Fan Club, it shames me to admit that - up until about ten minutes ago - I had no idea Mark Elijah Rosenberg's Approaching The Unknown even existed.
Then this trailer came waltzing into my life.
According to Deadline, Approaching The Unknown revolves around an astronaut (Strong) who's sent on a one-way solo mission to Mars. When his equipment fails, he's forced to take matters into his own hands (and possibly lose his mind along the way). That's a movie I would very much like to see.
But here's the crazy thing: Approaching The Unknown, a movie most of us weren't even aware until right now, arrives in theaters on June 6th. That's like a month and a half away! Deadline also says Rosenberg's film is getting a day and date release, with Vertical Entertainment handling the theatrical side of things and Paramount handling VOD and home video. You're all going to get a chance to see this, in other words, in the format of your choice.
What do you guys think? Looks pretty cool to me, but I'm a sucker for this sorta thing.
