HUDSON HAWK Star Richard E. Grant Joins WOLVERINE 3

He's going to be a "villainous mad-scientist type".

Richard E. Grant, who you might remember from such films as Hudson Hawk and Withnail And I, has joined the cast of Wolverine 3.

Here's the word from The Hollywood Reporter:

British actor Richard E. Grant is joining Hugh Jackman in Wolverine 3.

The movie is heading towards a May start with Patrick Stewart, who will play X-Men leader Professor X, and Boyd Holbrook, who is set to play Jackman’s nemesis.

The Hollywood Reporter goes on to say that Grant will be playing "a villainous mad-scientist type", but that all further plot details are being kept under wraps. They ain't lying! Wolverine 3 keeps dropping hints and adding cast members and chasing that Deadpool money, but we still have zero idea what the movie's going to be about. Correct me if I'm wrong, but - this wasn't how it was on X-Men Origins: Wolverine or The Wolverine, was it? Like, we knew the gist of those movies ("Terrible" and "Wolverine Does Japan", respectively) from the get-go, right?

It's an interesting approach, and one that's working like gangbusters on me: I haven't enjoyed any of the Wolverine movies (yes, even that one you really like and defended at length on your blog), and would probably be largely ambivalent about Wolverine 3 if they weren't playing so coy with the details. I'm dying to know how much Old Man Logan is going to make it into this thing.
