Robert Kirkman Bringing Comic Book Documentary Series To AMC

Just keep Kevin Smith out of there, and we’re good.

People love comic books (in theory, anyway; I’m not sure how many everyday people actually read comics), and people love documentaries. AMC has decided to put the two together. Cause they’re not dumb.

Coming from Robert Kirkman, who will executive produce alongside The Walking Dead’s David Alpert, AMC has given a green light to Heroes and Villains: The History of Comic Books a documentary series all about comics. The show will have a first season run of six hour-long episodes. Topics will range from comic book culture, to comic book history, to looks at particular characters and will also include lots of fun political angles.

It doesn’t sound like this is the kind of show that will have a host and lots of narration, but we’ll see. I just hope it’s not Kevin Smith, is what I’m getting at. Or Chris Hardwick. Or the Angry Video Game Nerd. We’ll find out when the show arrives some time next year.
