The Canon Episode 79: THE USUAL SUSPECTS
I like tying episodes of The Canon into what's happening in the world whenever possible, and so with the release of X-Men: Apocalypse this weekend I figured The Usual Suspects would make for a good episode. I believe I was right!
This is the film that put Bryan Singer on the map, that introduced the idea of Keyser Soze into our cultural lexicon and that features some great performances by actors who were then on the cusp and are today recognized as the greats. It's one of those movies I dreaded revisiting... and then found myself liking it.
Also this episode: I have a new theory about who Keyser Soze really is. I'm not sure it holds up, but I like it. Make your voice heard by voting in the official poll.
Next week: it's a Marilyn-off with Gentlemen Prefer Blondes vs Some Like It Hot. Get watching!
And also next week: the Canon comes alive again with a special show at UCB Sunset on Tuesday, June 7th. Jonah Ray Rodrigues joins us to discuss Ed Wood. You can buy a ticket ($5 cheap!) right here.
