BLADE RUNNER 2 Nabs THE MARTIAN’S Mackenzie Davis
We don’t really know anything about Denis Villeneuve’s sequel to Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner except that Villeneuve’s (obviously) directing it, from a script by Michael Green and original co-writer Hampton Fancher.
We also know it has a great cast, so far including Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Sylvia Hoeks, and Dave Bautista.
Now it looks like Mackenzie Davis, last seen as the beautiful NASA "nerd" in Ridley Scott’s The Martian and also in AMC’s Halt and Catch Fire, has also joined the film. Par for the course, her role is unknown. Is she playing a human? Is she playing a Replicant? Is she playing an electric sheep? Chances are, we may never know. Like, even after the film comes out.
That won’t be for a while, either. The Blade Runner sequel doesn’t come out until October 6, 2017. Hopefully by then it has a title and/or a synopsis. We’re not greedy; either one will do.
