DOPE’s Kiersey Clemons Now Frontrunner To Play FLASH’s Iris West

But she may have some stiff competition.

The time has come for Warner Bros.’ The Flash to start casting (except for Ezra Miller, of course, who got his part a long time ago). Right now that means news on who could play the Flash’s best bud, journalist Iris West.

According to Variety, that role is likely to go to Kiersey Clemons, an actress who already worked with director Rick Famuyiwa on his acclaimed film Dope. Clemons also appeared in Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising and will show up in the Flatliners remake.

But according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit, some other actresses are up for the part as well. The writer names singer Rita Ora and English actress Lucy Boynton as other possible Iris Wests. I’m describing them that way because I don’t know who they are.

We’ll just have to wait and see how this all shakes out. This is all still up in the air, so there’s still time for the role to go to Jai Courtney or Sam Saathoff.
