Kiefer Sutherland Will Return For The FLATLINERS Remake
We've known for some time that a Flatliners remake was headed our way via The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo director Niels Arden Oplev (since 2013, as a matter of fact), and we've also known for some time (since last October) that Ellen Page would be headlining the film. What we didn't know was when the hell they were actually going to make this thing.
Well, turns out that Flatliners will begin shooting any day now, and the project's added a few new cast members since we last checked in: Page is now joined by Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton, Kiersey Clemens...and Kiefer Sutherland.
Yes, that's right: the same Kiefer Sutherland who starred in the original Flatliners. Not the other one.
This is an interesting turn of events! As of now, there's no word what role Sutherland might be playing in the film (maybe he's cameo'ing as a dead body, maybe he's reprising his original character and this is actually a stealth sequel to Joel Schumacher's original, maybe he's just some creepy old guy who hangs out with these death-obsessed college kids), but I'm certainly curious to find out.
By the way, where do we stand on Flatliners? I've not seen it in many years, but after a certain tangent in this summer's Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping (one of the top three funniest sequences in the entire movie, I might add), I've been keen to give it another go. Should I bother or nah?
