Sometimes we like to make it hurt. Like this week, as The Canon pits Paul Thomas Anderson's undisputed masterpieces - Boogie Nights and There Will Be Blood - against each other. Each is a sweeping American epic from one our greatest directors, but the similarities end there. The two films could not be more different, which I think makes the choice all that much harder.
By the way: last week's entry, Re-Animator, made it into the Canon with a margin of TWO VOTES, and with more votes cast than any other episode before. That's incredible. Hopefully this week will be just as busy.
Next week: Breakfast at Tiffany's!
