Will Ferrell And John C. Reilly Back At It Again In HOLMES AND WATSON

Adam McKay not included.

When it comes to the pairing of Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, does the magic come from the two actors alone? Or does it also require the guidance of Adam McKay, who directed them in both Talladega Nights and Step Brothers?

We’re about to find out. Deadline reports that Ferrell and Reilly are teaming up for a new comedy called Holmes and Watson. This may surprise you, but it’s about Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, two characters that haven’t been utilized in popular culture for at least five or six decades now. Ferrel will play Holmes; Reilly will play Watson.

Holmes and Watson will be directed by Etan Cohen, who directed Ferrell in Get Hard. This could be a great idea, or it could be just some nonsense, similar to the difference between The Other Guys and Daddy’s Home. Hopefully it’s more on the Other Guys side of the fence.
