About a month ago, Michael Fassbender told Collider that Alien: Covenant would be much scarier than Prometheus.
Well, it's four weeks later and we've had no further update, so perhaps you've been thinking, "I wonder if Michael Fassbender still thinks Alien: Covenant will be scarier than Prometheus?" It's a fair question, and one whose answer almost certainly does not deserve its own post. And yet, here we are.
In a new interview with Collider, Michael Fassbender says that Alien: Covenant is still scarier than Prometheus. Hell, it might even be as scary as the original Alien.
I have to say, this Alien is going to be – I’m really excited to see it and everybody in the film was saying that there’s a film that we all wanna see. It’s much scarier than Prometheus, but it’s got that sort of same scope as Prometheus, that eminent sort of disaster feel, that Alien had. So it’s kind of a beautiful meeting of both of those films. I’m really excited to see it, I think it’s gonna be super scary, number one. And again, with the massive scope of Prometheus.
This should put all of your concerns straight to bed. This is twice now that Michael Fassbender has claimed that Alien: Covenant will be scarier than Prometheus.
What, you think Michael Fassbender - his brain fried from sitting through an entire afternoon's worth of soul-destroying junket interviews - is just gonna sit there and, what? Casually tell lies about Alien: Covenant? 'Cause why? 'Cause he's in it and wants the movie to do well and in order to sell tickets they need to convince audiences they're not getting hoodwinked into another Prometheus-level disappointment? Come on, brah.
Anyway, Ridley Scott's super scary Alien: Covenant will arrive on August 4th, 2017.
