Fox To Make ‘70s-Set Action Movie About The Life Of Stan Lee

Yes, you read that correctly.

This is going to sound like a joke. It may make you laugh, but today is not April 1. This is apparently for real.

The Hollywood Reporter claims Fox just purchased Stan Lee’s life rights. Hey! Not a bad idea. Once can imagine making a biopic of the guy who created or successfully claimed to create a great number of Marvel’s most popular and iconic characters.

But that’s not what they’re doing. Instead - for reasons I don’t fully understand - they want to make a ‘70s action film with Lee as the main character. In real life, the guy didn’t punch out bad guys or bed thousands of women (at least I don’t think he did), but in this movie he will.

The film is being produced by Twilight and The Maze Runner producers Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey. Tonally, the project is compared to Kingsman: The Secret Service and Roger Moore’s Bond films.

So, I don’t know what else to tell you. This will probably by the goofiest movie news story you read today unless we get really lucky this afternoon. Feel free to make your Stan Lee cameo jokes in the comments below.
