Denis Villeneuve’s BLADE RUNNER Sequel Finally Gets A Title

Get ready for BLADE RUNNER 2049.

We know very little about what Denis Villeneuve plans to do with his sequel to Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner. It will feature Ryan Gosling and a returning Harrison Ford and comes from a script by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green; other details are super scarce.

But now we at least have a title. The film will be called Blade Runner 2049, no colon as far as I can tell. This means it joins the ranks of other title + year movies such as Godzilla 1984 and Death Race 2000. Hopefully it’s better than the former. It has no chance of being better than the latter.

In addition to this news, we also have this picture to share of Ford, Gosling and Villeneuve hanging out in some old lady’s house:

I’m one of those folks who doesn’t love the original Blade Runner, which actually puts me in a good position for this new one. Nothing to ruin! How about you guys? How excited are you for Blade Runner 2049?
