Hot on the heels of a brand-new season three trailer comes the following excellent news: Netflix has signed Black Mirror to a fourth season.
The news comes to us from Black Mirror executive producer Annabel Jones, who popped up at the London Film Festival to answer some questions in the wake of a Black Mirror S3 screening. Here's what she said, according to the Radio Times:
"When you're ready to do the next series you do (it). Thankfully Netflix loved the show, stepped in and commissioned six films. So that allows us to play out on a bigger canvas, and take more risks, explore worlds without destabilising the Black Mirror sensibility.
"It's great. And we've got another season coming up too."
Black Mirror's first two seasons aired on the UK's Channel 4 before Brooker took the series to Netflix last year, and it sounds like that partnership's going well. Of course there's no timeline on when production might start - much less when the show's fourth season might arrive - but just hearing that one is being planned is good enough for us for the time being.
Stay tuned for more Black Mirror updates as they become available, and don't forget to check the new season out when it hits Netflix on October 21st.
Oh, and here's that new trailer, in case you missed it earlier today.
